Our story
Lone Star Pawz CATfe’ is a nonprofit organization committed to rescuing and safeguarding feline lives. Our mission is to offer a cozy space for adoptable cats until they are placed in their permanent homes.
The CATfé is a conduit to support Lone Star Pawz, a Non-Profit animal rescue and rehabilitation organization for both cats and dogs in the Brazoria County area. The CATfé’s proceeds go back into the rescue to support puppies and kitties in need. All of our residents are rescues, too!
Guests can interact with our resident feline companions in the cat cave, unwind with a drink in our cat-free lounge, or participate in our monthly events.

Two very special felines
About Janie
Janie was initially discovered with three broken bones in her back legs after being struck by a car, though she easily captured the hearts of the Lone Star Pawz team with her gentle and sweet demeanor upon intake in the rescue. However, after undergoing a successful leg surgery, Janie continued struggling with anemia, respiratory issues, and heart worms throughout recovery. She fought hard to recover and gratefully accepted the community’s love for her, but despite her powerful support team, Janie lost her battle on the night of September 20th, 2024.
Janie’s last night was one for the record books. She was swaddled and snuggled, and for a few short hours, her breathing returned to normal. She had a sweet, angelic smell to her. We believe the angels were surrounding her with comfort as she drifted off to a sweet slumber in bed with her foster humans and a few of the resident foster kitty siblings. Home is already empty without her raspy screams for wet food buffets and powerful body figure 8 swirls (because she did not have the greatest balance).
Janie will forever leave paw prints on our hearts, as today she took a piece of ours with her. Thank you to all who supported our sweet girl. Today, she runs and plays like the kitten we all know she thought she was. Her legacy reminds us of the beauty of rescue work, even when the journey is tough.

About Nadine
Nadine is by far our longest-staying resident! She came to the CATfé in June 2024 and was adopted in December 2024. Her timid, shy yet sassy personality captured the hearts of the CATfé crew. Although we miss hearing her chirps and giving back scratches, we’re so glad she found the purrfect forever home.
